How can you get stress relief from feeling stuck?

How can you get stress relief from feeling stuck? Maybe it is easier than you think. Harry came to see me because he was not working. He was stuck and feeling a little depressed.

Harry desired to enjoy the feeling of longevity and the vibrancy of his life. Harry explained that he knew why he was experiencing this stuck feeling.

Let me explain.

Harry was perplexed because he was not drumming on a daily basic. Drumming was Harry’s passion however; Harry believed that he could not drum until he found a job.

So what do you do about this exhausting feeling?

I remembered a story Mary told me about being stuck. You see Mary was a runner but had difficulty getting started on her daily run. However each day Mary would fight through this difficult feeling because at the end of her run she was always aware of an amazing feeling of joy as she noticed the silence within.

This sound of silence within also reminded Mary of the feeling of longevity and the vibrancy of her life. However, sometimes we get stuck because we do not have the patience to fight through our challenges. In order to conquer our challenges we need to take one small step.

In Mary’s case she focused on the end of the race. At the end of the race she would experience this profound feeling. The exhausting feeling of being stuck at the start of Mary’s run was now tempered.

So what is the moral of the story?

The next time you feel stuck, you can stay stuck by doing nothing or like Mary you can fight the difficult feeling (which for Mary was running) knowing that at the end of the rainbow there will be the light of the feeling of longevity and the vibrancy of her life.

Can you get stress relief by doing things your way?

Can you get stress relief by doing things your way? Mary thought it was possible until she became emotionally charged and lost her temper. Mary was having difficulty experiencing stress relief because she wanted to do things her way.

Mary requested my assistance in dealing with this problem.

Let me explain.

Mary was seeking advice of a professional on a medical matter. She discovered some information which she thought was relevant to her case. Mary insisted that the professional utilized this information to solve the problem.

Did Mary have all the necessary info?

The information was correct and specific but it did not take into consideration the person age, medical condition and other factors. Mary was disappointed and became irate not knowing the ramifications of her desired request. When the professional assessed the situation taking all the factors into the discussion, Mary’s concerns were not as severe
as she thought.

Consequently, Mary was disappointed because she felt that her information was correct. In facilitating Mary, she realized that she had not taken all the essential factors into her communication. Mary also admitted that she was stressing herself out based on insufficient information.

So what is the moral of the story?

Sometimes in our haste we rush to judgment. We need be more patience and allow the natural cause of the problem to be revealed. This is just another simple way to enjoy stress relief and avoid being overpowered by stressful situations.

Stress Relief and Negative thoughts

Stress Relief and Negative thoughts may result in more stress.

Let me explain.

Mary was having difficulty communicating with her partner. One day Mary’s partner accused her of being very negative and she burst into a rage of uncontrollable anger for over a week. After being upset for a week, Mary asked me to assist her with her challenge.

In exploring the root cause of the problem, Mary discovered that she was in fact negative, she used the word ‘can’t’ and “have to” very often.

What problem can you create by using the word can’t?

Her partner was a business man who sought Mary’s advice on business matters. Mary’s advice was usually very negative. This caused her partner to be disturbed. He was confused because the word ‘can’t’ never exist in his belief system.

You see, Mary only understood making money from a salaried job. To be an entrepreneur to her was too risky. Her perception of self employed was too many long hours for very little money.

What lessons did Mary learn from this experience? Mary discovered three lessons.

1. Mary acknowledged she was not aware of her belief system and how it affected her partner.

2. Mary also admitted that her thoughts were all over the place. She had difficulty focusing and sleeping at night.

3. Mary now realized that she needs to find new tools or perspective on staying focused and sleeping at night because of her negative thoughts.

So what is the moral of the story?

Blowing up into burst of anger on a regular basis is not very healthy and it will cost you when you calm down. 1f you want to stay focused more often then you need to change you behavior.

Stress Relief and positive thoughts

Can Stress relief and positive thoughts help you to relax?

Someone once said that thoughts are things. The beautiful thing about thoughts is that you can have any kind of thoughts you desire. Whether you have positive or negative thoughts you’re going to have thoughts.

Your positive thoughts are going to determine how successful you are in coping with your daily stresses.

Let me explain.

Mary came to see me and requested my assistance because “I am paralyzed in my life. I’ve been trying to create change for years.”

I suggested to Mary that she first need to get herself out of her present state by examining herself (thoughts). It is important that you take stock of your strong points so that you know what is missing. In order to discover why you need to have more positive thoughts is to a take a piece of paper and draw a line down the center.

So what is the purpose for having this information?

On one side of the page you list your negative thoughts and on the other side your positive thoughts. This information gives a visual representation of your strengths and weaknesses. After doing this exercise Mary discovered that when she got stuck she had created the problem through her negative thinking.

So what is the moral of the story?

Pay close attention daily to the ratio of your positive to negative thoughts.

Can Stress Relief make you more money?

Can stress relief make you more money? Perhaps, maybe.

Let me explain

In the last two weeks most of the people I talk with seem to have a desire to make more money. I am referring specifically to people who have had major health challenges. Some of these health challenges include stoke and heart attack.

One gentleman Harry was very specific. He indicated he was not interested in what he needed he wanted more money. Harry asked Cecil what do you for living.

I replied that I help people to stay focused so that they can find more time where none exist. As a result you will be able to relax anywhere anytime. Harry responded - ” I am not interested in any form of relaxation give me the money.”

Now Harry is recovering from a mild stroke. He has no idea how the regular practice of relaxation or meditation can help improve your health. His form of relaxation is to pop a pill.

So what is the challenge with intelligent Harry?

Harry has been misinformed. You see the beliefs that helped Harry to be successful are no longer working. Harry, now realizes that he is working harder but getting less result.

So what can Harry do to change his perspective about money?

Here are two basic answers

First, Harry has already indicated that he is not interested in practicing relaxation or meditation. Remember people need to have a desire to change perspective. You cannot force them to change. However if we keep on doing what
we are doing we will get the same results.

Secondly, sometimes we need a rude awakening like a major health challenge like a heart attack to shake us out of our comfort zone. There is nothing wrong with having lots of money and material possessions. The secret is to be healthy enough to find the time to enjoy the benefits and freedom that money can provide.
