Even enraged. Maybe you&#8217;re angry at a distance spouse, an unreasonable boss or just the world in general. When anger has no place to go, i.e. you can&#8217;t vent at your boss (if you want to keep your job), it turns inward and, as it accumulates, it becomes <strong>depression</strong>.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>Is it easier to deal with rage than depression?</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">It&#8217;s much easier to deal with anger than it is with <strong>depression</strong>. By the time you reach a state of depression, damage to your psychic well-being has already been done. Anger can be resolved quickly, without psycho-therapy, potentially addictive medications<br />
(many Prozac users call themselves &#8216;lifers&#8217;) and a lot of money down the drain. The key is to recognize the anger, what sets it off and how to release it &#8211; let it go so that it doesn&#8217;t turn toxic and cloud your whole day &#8211; or your whole life.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>Where can you find help for Anger Management?</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">There are tons of books on the subject. Lots of seminars, court-ordered classes and people caught in jobs or family situations that  are just one sarcastic comment away from going ballistic &#8211; and perhaps hurting others.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>The kids who are shooting their classmates are angry</strong> &#8211; angry at the bullying and the social isolation, angry that their lives aren&#8217;t like the lives of kids they see on the TV. They feel cheated and lied to, which leads to anger that doesn&#8217;t have an outlet. So, these<br />
kids and their depressed friends and family members continue to suppress anger until it becomes a full-blown, sometimes-debilitating condition.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">But it&#8217;s not just kids who are going ballistic. Check out these numbers to see if you, or a family member or friend, fit into one of these categories:</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>18.8 million Americans are affected by bipolar disorder </strong>(unexplained emotional highs and lows), dysthymic disorder (inappropriate reactions to routine, daily activities like getting stuck in a traffic jam) and <strong>depression</strong> (loss of focus, desire, libido, energy &#8211; the individual becomes a dried up husk of a human being leading a joyless life). <strong>Sound like you?</strong> If so, you&#8217;re not alone.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>Get this:</strong> the largest population segment using psychotropic medications are pre-schoolers! That should send a shiver down your spine.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>More than half of survey respondents</strong> believe that depression is simply a personal weakness. (You&#8217;ll snap out of it).</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>15% of depressed individuals will commit suicide </strong>- the final act of desperation and an avoidable, treatable condition.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>Depression limits your ability to make even simple functional</strong> decisions &#8211; like what to have for dinner. It&#8217;s no way to live.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>Can you learn to live with Anger?</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">The person who cuts you off on the way to work gets you angry. But he&#8217;s gone and in a few minutes the incident will be forgotten. Routinely, anger dissipates over time for most people.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">However, those with a &#8220;short fuse&#8217; create problems for themselves and those around them. Usually, these quick-to-anger individuals have family problems, they have difficulty keeping a job and building a career and, in many cases, they don&#8217;t have any social network<br />
- support for coping with anger.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>Would you like 10 anger Management Tips?</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">1. <strong>Recognize the triggers that set you off and avoid them whenever possible</strong>. If your mother-in-law angers you, avoid her (except at holidays and special occasions). You don&#8217;t have a responsibility to like everyone and everyone won&#8217;t like you.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">2. <strong>Create a dialog with the individual that is causing anger</strong>. It should be a discussion to come to terms, not a shouting match in the office hallway.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">3. <strong>Find a recreational outlet</strong>. Physical activity is always a good way to let anger flow from the body but any hobby that takes your mind off the anger is helpful in combating the more serious problem of depression.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">4. <strong>Build a support network</strong>. There is any number of clubs and associations that will welcome you just as you are.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">5. <strong>Do good works.</strong> Help a stranger. Help a friend. Provide comfort to a relative. Doing good counteracts the effects of the anger collected that day. It just makes you feel good.<strong /></font></p>
<p><font size="3">6. <strong>Don&#8217;t self-medicate with alcohol or drugs</strong>. These mask the problem but don&#8217;t solve it. You want to develop a clear view of your situation and mind-altering substances are simply counter-productive.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">7. <strong>Join an anger management group.</strong> If you&#8217;re unable to control your anger in routine situations, there are free anger management classes in many communities. You don&#8217;t have to go off the deep end before seeking treatment. In fact, going proactive is a<br />
positive step in the right direction. You&#8217;ll feel better just taking that step.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">8. <strong>Meditate, or just sit quietly for 20 minutes a day</strong>. Take the phone off the hook, close the door, get into a comfortable position, close your eyes and drift away. Do NOT fume about the things that are making you angry.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">9. <strong>Eat a healthy diet.</strong> If you&#8217;re living on chips and beer, no wonder you&#8217;re depressed. Eat better, feel better.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">10. <strong>Find something in which to believe</strong>. It doesn&#8217;t have to be a religion. It can be a community group or a personal growth project. <strong>Discover something you can really put your heart in to</strong>.</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>Final Thoughts</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">Finally, <strong>contact a professional in anger management</strong>. A few sessions on clearing negative thoughts and building in &#8220;me&#8221; time each day will do wonders for the anger you feel. And as the anger slowly ebbs, the depression and the associated symptoms will decrease as well.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">So, if you&#8217;re depressed chronically, just remember, there are many things you can do to address the underlying anger that&#8217;s the cause of your <strong>depression</strong>.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">Depression is rage turned inward. Who or what are you angry with? That&#8217;s a good starting point for a happier, more productive life.</font></p>

<p><font size="3"><strong>Let me explain:</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">I was on a radio show the other day. The discussion centered on the ability to relax in your daily hectic schedule. The radio host indicated that he tries to &#8220;still his mind&#8221; but before he knows it his mind wanders. So he has been trying for awhile to <strong>quiet the mind</strong>.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">He knows he needs to stop, <strong>take a break</strong> and <strong>relax</strong>, that&#8217;s why he keeps on trying. But he is not making any progress. So he ends up in this endless loop where <strong>stress relief</strong> does not exist.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">His frustration is so stressful that he stopped trying to find time to <strong>take a break</strong>. Sooner or later he will find time to <strong>take a break</strong> or the health consequences of not <strong>taking a break</strong> will force him to stop and slow down. Whatever mindset got the radio host to where he is today is no longer working.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">Yes you guess it he needs to change his mindset about <strong>relaxation</strong> and enjoying <strong>stress relief.</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>The radio host has two challenges about relaxation:</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>His first challenge about relaxation</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">The first challenge is that he is attempting to bite off more than he can chew. What that means is that the ability to quite the mind is a very difficult undertaking without a competent facilitator. He can keep on trying to <strong>quiet the mind</strong> and continue to fall flat on his face or get a <strong>meditation</strong> coach and cut down the learning curve.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">The radio host needs to first learn how to <strong>relax anywhere anytime</strong>. Then it would be much easier to cross over the bridge to <strong>meditation</strong> and learn how to <strong>quite the mind.</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>His second challenge about relaxation</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">He needs to incorporate ways of relaxing during his busy daily schedule for himself. These activities need to be like appointments for him.  These <strong>relaxation breaks </strong>need to be simple enough so that he can always take them without creating more <strong>stress.</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">1.    Take a 15 minute walk at lunch each day.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">2.    Sit on a park bench for 10 minutes and listen to the sounds of nature.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">3.    After work each day go for a 30 minute walk in the park.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">4.    Play a game of squash or racket ball during lunch or after work</font></p>
<p><font size="3"><strong>So what is the moral of the story?</strong></font></p>
<p><font size="3">If you are trying to <strong>relax</strong> and <strong>quiet the mind</strong> and you discover you are still getting the same stressful results, it time to change. So you can continue to struggle and suffer the painful health consequences or seek help from a competent professional and enjoy <strong>stress relief</strong>.</font></p>

<p>Have you ever thought that you could experience <strong>stress relief</strong> by going to the dentist? Today let me share with you my story of getting <strong>stress relief</strong> from going to the<strong>dentist</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Here is my story</strong></p>
<p>Two weeks ago I left home to go for a walk. As I was walking I noticed a feeling of<br />
discomfort in one of my teeth. I decided to drop in to see my <strong>dentist</strong> and check out my concern.</p>
<p><strong>The appointment</strong></p>
<p>Without an appointment, my <strong>dentist</strong> saw me. He took an x-ray and then told me that the x-ray results indicated that I needed to have a molar root canal to fix the problem. (My dentist had flagged this tooth previously so he was not surprised at the results.)</p>
<p><strong>Two weeks waiting period for a root canal extraction</strong></p>
<p>That&#8217;s the good news. The bad news was that I would have to wait two weeks before I could have another appointment. The <strong>dentist</strong> offered to write me a prescription because he thought that I would need something to help with the pain.</p>
<p>He believed that if I did not take the <strong>medication</strong> my face might swell up like a balloon. I told him &#8220;I beg to differ&#8221; and refused to take the prescription.</p>
<p><strong>Fast forward to the day of my dental appointment two weeks later</strong></p>
<p>As I was sitting in the dentist&#8217;s chair, he asked me about taking the <strong>medication </strong>(remember, no medication equals face swelling up). Some people believe in allopathy. I will<br />
explain that later.</p>
<p><strong>Taken no pain medication for stress relief</strong></p>
<p>I looked lovingly into my dentist&#8217;s eyes and told him he was a good <strong>dentist</strong> and he should stick to what he is good at. I also reminded him that I teach <strong>meditation</strong> and I am also good at what I do, so let&#8217;s not cross the line (I had not taken any pain <strong>medication </strong>for two weeks and was in no discomfort).</p>
<p><strong>The two hour dental operation</strong></p>
<p>While my dentist was performing the two hour operation I went into a deep <strong>meditation</strong>.When I went home from the <strong>dentist</strong> my partner and my daughter wondered how I was feeling. Because of the deep <strong>meditation</strong> there was no pain or discomfort.</p>
<p>I actually taught my regular Wednesday night <strong>meditation</strong> class that evening and my students could not believe that I was comfortable teaching and enjoying <strong>stress relief</strong>.</p>
<p>One of my students asked about the pain associated with the freezing when it wore off.<br />
The deep <strong>meditation</strong> I had done while sitting in the dentist&#8217;s chair took care of the pain of the discomfort when the freezing wore off.</p>
<p><strong>I had promised earlier to tell you about the word <a title="Stress relief and allopathy" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allopathy">allopathy</a>.</strong></p>
<p>An allopathic is someone who believes in treating the symptoms of pain rather than the<br />
cause thus the &#8220;have pains take a pill&#8221; mentality. When you practice <strong>meditation</strong> your learn how to embrace pain rather than pushing it away.</p>
<p><strong>So what is the moral of the story?</strong></p>
<p>Going to the dentist is mind over matter in the context of <strong>meditation</strong>. Your can fight the pain and create greater discomfort, take <strong>medication</strong>, or you can embrace the pain through <strong>meditation</strong> and enjoy profound <strong>stress relief. </strong></p>

Mary used to <strong>meditate</strong> and enjoy <strong>stress relief</strong> but now she has issues sleeping at night.</p>
<p>When Mary came to see me, she thought she had stressful issues with her family and her work. She did have stressful situations in her life. However her desire for <strong>stress relief</strong> was clouded by another issue.</p>
<p><strong>Let me explain.</strong></p>
<p>Mary used to be able to get a good night&#8217;s sleep. I explored with her the real point in time when she stopped enjoying having <strong>stress relief</strong> and a good night&#8217;s sleep. Mary<br />
revealed that she stopped enjoying a good night&#8217;s sleep when she stopped listening to her <strong>meditation CD&#8217;s.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Stop listening to her meditation CD&#8217;s</strong></p>
<p>Mary stopped listening to her <strong>meditation CD&#8217;s</strong> when she broke her <strong>CD</strong> player. She also could not be bothered spending $70.00 (what Mary wanted to spend) on a new <strong>CD</strong> player in order to enjoy <strong>stress relief</strong>. Mary also acknowledged that she could have played her <strong>meditation CD&#8217;</strong>s on her laptop computer or DVD player.</p>
<p><strong>Meditation or medication</strong></p>
<p>So instead of going to the doctor (as Mary did) to increase her medication to help her<br />
sleep at night and enjoy stress relief, all she had to do was to buy a <strong>CD </strong>player for $70.00.</p>
<p><strong>So what is the moral of the story?</strong></p>
<p>You can find excuses for everything in life. The truth is that the solution to life&#8217;s problems, are usually very simple. When you find the time to <strong>meditate,</strong> so that you can stop and listen to your fog (answers) then you will begin to enjoy <strong>stress relief.</strong></p>

<p><font size="2">After Mary started her regular <strong>meditation</strong> practice and with some facilitation she realized that these mad voices were merely messages. These messages provided answers to burning questions that Mary had been asking.</font></p>

Unfortunately answers or messages usually come disguised as hard work, mad voice, images etc. So the secret is to be able to understand the forms in which you&#8217;re answers are given to you.
