Spiritual Relaxation: Being in the Moment for the Dentist.

In the moment for the dentistI recall a time when I went to visit my dentist. There was a couple – husband and wife – in front of me and I particularly noticed that the wife, let’s call her Susie, was very nervous.

Susie was sitting hands tightly clasped and inserted between her legs. Her legs were crossed at the ankles and she would constantly rock back and forth as she peeped around the corner to see if the dental attendant was coming to get her.

Her husband understood her fear of visiting the dentist and was doing his best to calm her down.

He jokingly asked her if she needed a rum and coke. She replied that “rum straight up would be better”.

So Susie continued to rock back and forth in the chair with her arms tightly clasped between her legs and her legs crossed at the ankles peeping around the corner to see if she will be called next.

But here’s something interesting:

Seeing Susie’s dilemma, I spoke to her suggesting that she pretend that she was in Mexico on the beach in a bikini. Susie said “no bikini but a full length bathing suit with rum in her hand.”Let’s take a closer look:

Her arms came from between her legs and rested on the arm of the chair. Her legs uncrossed at the ankles and she sat in the chair totally relaxed for a moment.

But guess what?

As soon as she remembered that she was not actually on the beach in Mexico and heard her inner chatter of all the negative thoughts of being in the dental chair – her arms returned between her legs, and her legs crossed at the ankles.

And believe it or not, then she started rocking back and forth looking to see when she would be called in the have her teeth cleaned.

What’s this got to do with you?

You’ll be glad to know that it’s all about Spiritual Relaxation and being in the moment.

Here’s the real truth.

When I suggested that she pretend that she was on the beach in a bathing suit, she became totally relaxed and was experiencing spiritual relaxation.

You see we all experience spiritual relaxation on a daily basis. The problem is, that it is very fleeting and out of our consciousness just like Susie.

Here’s the real kicker:

The reason why we have this problem is that we do not have a practical stress relief program that teaches us how to access that experience FROM our unconscious mind under any circumstance.

Astonishing isn’t it?

So you see being in the moment (spiritual relaxation) is not the problem. And what’s worse…

…is the lack of a practical and proven stress relief program that teaches you how to find that moment when necessary.

Here’s the thing:

It’s true that you practice spiritual relaxation for fleeting moments each day.

So what would happen in your life if you experienced spiritual relaxation more often?

We would love to hear your thoughts. Leave us a comment so that we can notice how you feel.

Peace.

Spiritual Relaxation: Is it the Secret code for Anxiety and Stress?

Spiritual RelaxationIf I were to ask you, “How do you relax”, what will you tell me?

You may tell me that you relax when you go home and you are with your family.

Or when you go to the gym and work out.

Perhaps you may say that you relax when you go to Yoga classes.

The lists of WAYS you think you are relaxing goes on and on and on.

Interestingly enough, we are always going SOMEWHERE to find SOMETHING.

So what would happen if I told you to do one the following three things?

  • TAKE AWAY your special time with your family.
  •  CANEL your gym membership.
  •  You are not ALLOWED to practice yoga.

You get the picture.

Let’s look at your three possible responses to having these restrictions.

  •  Physically, you will probably tighten up and stop breathing.
  • Mentally, your negative thoughts may become so profound that you will probably feel like screaming.
  • Emotionally, you may end up in the doctor’s office, and as a result, you’ll begin taking prescription drugs and/or resort to consuming excessive amounts of coffee as a way of dealing with your uncomfortable feelings.

OK, Spiritual relaxation to the rescue.

To me, spiritual relaxation means to be able to be in the moment and enjoy what is going on.

YOU do not need to go ANYWHERE to do ANYTHING.

Listen I’m not kidding around…

You don’t believe me?

I thought so.

That’s fair.

Let me show you how dead serious I am…

After teaching this process for over 14 years, my students initially find this concept foreign, but soon they discovered that it is the most effective, natural way to relax.

So here’s what else is in store for you…

An introduction to a profound change in your consciousness.

Up until now, you have probably done it occassionally but here’s the most important part…

You do not have to wait until you go away on holiday. You’ll be glad to know you can start right now.

So remember, this process is very simple and you’re going to love it or not. It is called Spiritual Relaxation.

What is Spiritual Relaxation?

It is being in the moment and not having to go anywhere to relax. No longer do you have to wait until you go on vacation to relax or take a break.

Where ever you are is OK, at the moment. There is no need to have to go to the gym, to go to Yoga, to go home to be with the family.

We can relax right where we are.

You may wonder why you have been looking for anxety and stress relief but unable to find it.

Let’s face it, all you have to do is stop multitasking.

I am not kidding. You have  been told that when you multitask you get more done. RIGHT.

SORRY, You have been misinformed.

This example of Spiritual Relaxation is going to surprise you.

The next time you have a cup of coffee, I want you to have it in a different location.

If you’re a business entrepreneur who works from home, I want you to have your coffee in another room in your house outside of your home office.

While you drink your coffee, please, do not read the paper, use your phone, watch TV or listen to the radio.

Just be with your coffee. It’s not as easy as it sounds.

That’s my example of spiritual relaxation.

Your feed back is always welcomed. So give us a shout and tell us what you think.

Coping Skills: Three Stress Relief Tips for Releasing Tension and Anxiety…

Stress, Tension and Anxiety Laugh!

Yes, just laugh. It is Biblical and healthy and the best tension reliever around. Laughing releases pleasure hormones in our brain, releases tension in our muscles, and releases pent up anxiety. Look for things that will make you laugh. Watch a comedy on television or DVD.

Watch children playing and laughing in the park or on the school playground. Laughing is contagious. Try it, you’ll soon find others laughing right with you. What a great source of coping with stress.

Eating healthy, resting fully, and exercising regularly helps release tension and anxiety.

Eat healthy, rest fully, and exercise regularly. These three things can go far in helping you cope with stress and anxiety. Giving your body the proper nutrition will keep you healthier and help your self-esteem.

Allowing your body to relax and rejuvenate while you sleep will help you prepare for any stress that may come your way the following day.

Physical activity will help you feel and look better. When you feel and look better, your self-esteem grows and you feel more confident in facing life’s stress. Choose an activity that you like and makes you feel happy, and then take part in that activity at least five times a week.

Dance, walk and play are simple ways to reduce anxiety and stress

You can dance, walk, play with children or grandchildren, jog, or go bowling. All are good physical activities that help us cope with normal stress and anxiety.

It is normal for all of us to feel periods of stress and anxiety. If we are not able to cope with them, we are doing our bodies harm and threatening our own survival.

We would love to hear your comments. So go ahead and tell us what you think.

Health and Fitness: Two Tips, Rest and Exercise a great tonic for Stress and Anxiety…

Exercise for stess reliefWhat else can we do to relieve stress and anxiety? Get the proper amount of rest. While you are sleeping your body is making repairs and balancing all parts of your body.

Your brain and heart is resting and preparing for the next day. Your brain is the part of the body that is the most closely related to stress. Without the proper amount of rest, it does not handle stress and anxiety the way it was designed to.

OK, how much rest do we really need for stress relief?

What is the proper amount of rest? Each of us has an internal clock that lets us know when we are getting the right amount of rest. Some may be comfortable getting five or six hours of rest each night, others may not feel up to par if they don’t get eight to ten hours.

Your body knows how much rest it needs, listen to your internal clock. This leads to the question of exercise.

Is exercise good for stress and anxiety?

Many of us do not like to hear about this stress reliever. It is exercise. Yes, physical activity will help relieve feelings of stress and anxiety!

What if you don’t like to exercise?

There are many ways of getting the physical activity that your body needs. Pick an activity that you enjoy and take part in that activity five days a week.

Dancing is enjoyable to many people, and it is great exercise. Take your pet for a walk, enjoy the nature in your local park, or get on that bike that has been stored in your garage!

Do I need to check with my doctor to see if I am physically fit?

If you are starting an exercise program for the first time, check with your doctor to be sure you can physically take part in your choice of exercise. Remember, even a small amount of physical activity is better than none at all. Start slow and add speed and more activities are you are comfortable with them.

So, here’s the secret:

Relieving stress and anxiety can be done with just a few changes in your lifestyle. Try it! You will feel better and be able to handle any stressors that appear in your life.

Healthy Eating: Tips for Anxiety and Stress Relief…

Mature Couple Enjoying a healthy mealEveryone at some time in their life has to deal with stress and anxiety issues. Many, sadly, try to deal with stress and anxiety by turning to alcohol or drugs, sometimes both.

Anxiety and stress relief can be yours by just changing a few simple items in your lifestyle.

Can eating a healthy diet reduce your stress and anxiety?

Eating a healthy diet can relieve stress and anxiety. Instead of going for comfort foods that will give you temporary relief from stress anxiety, try eating healthy snacks.

So what would happen if you added some fresh fruit and vegetables to your life style?

Fresh fruits and vegetables can be easily exchanged for sugary treats high in sugar and low in anything that is healthy.

Plan your diet around foods high in fiber, and low in salt and transfats. Eating a balanced diet can help you even out your emotions and moods and help you reduce any stress and anxiety you have in your life.

When is a good time to eat healthy?

Eat healthy meals at the same time every day. Many of us are used to having a big meal in the evening, but it would be healthier to eat a good breakfast, a smaller meal at lunch time, and a small dinner.

I know this goes against everything we were taught when we were growing, but will make us healthier as we begin to age.

How often do you skip breakfast?

Many students and adults skip breakfast. That’s something I have been guilty of doing for many years. Those who skip breakfast are relying on their energy coming from their muscles instead of the stored fat in the body. We need breakfast to jumpstart our metabolism for the day.

So here’s the thing..

Make one of these small healthy eating changes in your in your life an notice the difference in your anxiety and stress relief.

‘So You Think You Can Dance’: A Tribute to Breast Cancer Fighters

Before the performance, choreographer Tyce Diorio explained, “I just felt compelled to talk about breast cancer and a friend who was faced with it.” The piece moved the entire judging panel to tears. Nigel Lythgoe proclaimed that it reminded him why he loved dance so much and, “If this isn’t a [an Emmy] nomination next year, I’ll be hugely surprised.” Nigel called the powerful lifts and leaps amazing, and admitted he completely lost it when Melissa pounded her fists against Ade’s chest.
