Stress Relief can help you stay focused

Stress Relief can help you stay focused especially if you are always rushing or in a hurry.Let me explainMary had made great progress on her journey of enjoying stress relief. Every now and then, Mary would run into a road block, because life did not go the way she expected. This road block was evident when Mary felt stuck (rushing or always in a hurry) and was no longer enjoying stress relief.

So how did Mary become unstuck?

When Mary became stuck she became very irritable and impatient. She started to rush herself out of this stuck state in order to stay focused.  However the more she rushed the deeper she got into her stuck state.

With some facilitation, Mary discovered that she could stay focused by playing more in her life (Mary was taking life too serious).

Playing more

Mary could play and stay focused in many ways. Perhaps the simple and most exciting way was to recall a pleasant memory. Mary quickly and easily recalled the time when she was 15 years old and she stole her father’s car.

Pleasant memory

This memory helped Mary to stay focused while regaining her self-confidence and patients. Play for Mary now meant stealing her father’s car and she could find this awesome memory instantly. In her playing state Mary found the answer to her stuck state.

So what is the moral of the story?

A stuck state is merely an opportunity to stay focused. life lessons are usually presented to you as “road blocks.” Now you can choose to play (find a past pleasant memory). Recalling this memory will allow you to receive answers to your stuck state.

Working Moms and Stay at home Moms can easily stay focused and avoid stress

Working Moms and Stay at home Moms can easily stay focused and avoid stress so that they focus for success. Do you easily lose Focus?

Yes you can quickly lose focus and avoid the state of the experience of stress relief.

Let me explain.

Joan was enjoying a marvelous day of being in the moment by herself. The phone rang, Joan answered the phone, and it was her friend Sue. Joan quickly discovers that Sue was all stressed out. Joan instantly became stress out as well.

Wait there is more.

Joan believes that she should focus on solving other people’s problems. So on the phone she immediately took over shifting from her state of incredible stress relief to a state of depression (quickly trying to solve a problem she knows nothing about) in order to solve Sue’s problem.

As working moms or stay at home moms you are responsible for your actions.Your actions can create the havoc of stress or the serenity of peace and tranquility.

It is not your responsibility

You need to understand that people create stress through their actions and it is not your responsibility to rescue them.

Consequence of staying focused

Allowing your friends or love ones to make mistakes helps them to learn their life lessons. If however you constantly smoother your friends and love ones by providing solutions to all of their problems then it is like putting a candle snuffer over a lit candle.

Guilty of stopping growth and avoiding stress relief

You are unknowingly depriving you friends and love ones of the joys of living, putting out their light of growth, stress relief and life lessons. Life lessons which are needed to become the backbone for their spiritual growth.

So what is the moral of the story?

Staying focused allows you to maintain your b>balance and avoid the trap of preventing your friends and love ones from making mistakes and learning their life lessons.

Stress Relief and Relaxation

Stress relief and relaxation can help you stop and smell the roses.

Relaxation is important to working moms and busy business people because it allows you to stop and breathe. A relaxation break makes it possible to recharge your energies by staying focused, taking action, and having more time. This pause will allow you to have more time to enjoy with your family.

Relaxation can help you live longer for 3 simple reasons.

A pedicure is a great stress relief strategy for pampering your feet

A pedicure is a great stress relief strategy for pampering your feet. While on holiday in Barbados my partner took me to see Linda (a pedicurist) to experience foot pampering which I discovered to be another form of stress relief.

A pedicure is another name for foot pampering.

So what is a pedicure?

I sat in a chair and put my feet in warm water or a paraffin wax. My feet were soaked in warm water for a while and that made them feel suppler. My toe nails were clipped shaped, then buffed and my cuticles were pushed back.

The process also allows for the removal of dead skin by scrubbing the bottom and the sides of my feet. Some services offer a massage which is a wonderful form of relaxation. Out of curiosity I did an unofficial survey to find out why people have pedicures.

Unofficial survey

Generally everyone in my unofficial survey agreed that a pedicure makes your feet feel and look good. Also the appearance of your toes look elegant and your heels are as smooth as silk.

Then as you walk, you feel more confident because you are more relaxed and enjoying stress relief.

So when you get all dressed up or in your casual attire, in your opened toed shoes with no back or sandals then you can experience a wonderful form of relaxation.

Touch

I also discovered that for some people the physical touch of a pedicure is a form of stress relief. Others like the gentle touch of the massage and the feeling of their feet in the warm water.

Personally the removal of the dead skin from my feet made me feel light and gave me a profound awareness of my feet.

Poor Circulation

My pedicurist Linda told me that a pedicure is also good stress relief for people who have poor circulation in their feet.

Men and Pedicures

I also asked Linda what was her experience with men and pedicures?

Linda said,” When I started my practice 9 years ago, men thought that a pedicure was a “feminine thing”. Now in the last 6 years men have been enjoying the light feeling of the removal of the dead skin from the bottom of their feet and the stress relief of the feeling of warm water on their feet. Some women have also brought their partners who wear sandals to have their feet pampered so that the feet look good in sandals.”

So what is the moral of the story?

You can pamper your feet and enjoy stress relief.

Working Moms success or failure is determined by how well they cope with unexpected stressful situations

Working Moms success or failure is determined by how well they cope with unexpected stressful situations. Chaos or tragedy comes without warning.

Let me explain:

I am presently in Barbados on holiday enjoying the beautiful weather. The white sandy beach is quiet and peaceful in the early morning. The beach is punctuated by the sound of the waves as they crash against the shore.

The smell of the sea and early morning sea baths is an amazing feeling. The blue sky and the crystal clear water creates a wonderful state of peace of mind.

While I was sleeping last night it rained. As the rain drops “pelted down” on the roof top I was reminded of a wonderful childhood experience of stress relief.

The Orchard

In the morning I walked in silence into the backyard and visited an incredible orchard. I was first attracted to the plum and cherry trees which were pregnant with ripe fruit.

I felt like a little child again. Some of the ripe plumbs were way below eye level while others were above. Then I went over to the cherry tree where I got up close and personal. This tree was much taller and presented a challenge for me to reach those delicious bright red cherries.

In order to get at the cherries I had to pull the branches towards me. As I pulled the branches I was bathed in the ecstasy of a surprising shower of water. You see… as I mentioned before it had rained during the night.

When I let go of the branches again I got another surprising shower. The cherries were glowing red as I excitedly pulled on the branches and picked more cherries. This pulling and letting go of the branches provided a wonderful opportunity to be in the moment.

Daily Challenges

In our daily living you will experience challenges of stress. Most challenges come with no warning. Your success or failure in life will be determined by how well you handle unexpected challenges.

So what is the moral of the story?

Chaos, tragedy and unexpected challenges are a reality of life. The secret is how well and quickly you can acknowledge your situation and use the appropriate coping strategy to regain balance.

Working moms and dark skin people can relax; enjoy stress relief and stay focused by staying out of the sun

Working moms and dark skin people can relax; enjoy stress relief and stay focused by staying out of the sun. Did you know that dark skinned people can experience stress relief by staying out of the sun?

Let me explain

I was in the dentist office today and he mentioned that he did not know that dark skinned people could get sun burned. He indicated that when he stays out in the sun too long, he gets red like a tomato.

I ask him how about a lobster? but he said “no he is a more like a tomato because he gets bright and shinny.”

Dark skinned people can get sunburned

Then he discovered to his amazement that dark skinned people can get sunburned as well. His sunburn is visible while the dark skinned persons are “kinda” not so obvious.

If you inadvertently touch a dark skinned person who has been sun-burnt, they will scream in excruciating pain because you are not visibly aware of their sensitive skin and you would wonder what you had done wrong.

Excess vs. pigmentation

I guess the story here is about excess rather than the pigmentation of the skin. If you do anything in excess there is usually an imbalance; which could lead to discomfort.

So what is the moral of the story?

Stress relief comes from having balance in every aspect of your life.

Working moms and busy business people can relax and enjoy public speaking by staying focused on what they want

Working moms and busy business people can relax and enjoy public speaking by staying focused on what they want. Staying focused Is the challenge.

Let me explain

You can have a drink and experience stress relief before speaking in public or you can experience the joy of speaking in public naturally.

It was a beautiful sunny evening as I met some friends I had not seen for quite a while at this party. Renewing old acquaintances is always fun and an opportunity to catch up on good old gossip and do some networking.

The speech

At the party one of the speakers gave a passionate speech which was filled with emotion and wonderful stories of Queen of Sheba and Cleopatra and her incredible journey of stress relief in researching these beautiful women and what cosmetics and other beauty secrets these women used to help them make a difference.

At the introduction of her speech this speaker explained that she was not a good speaker, although her speech was spell- binding.

What this lady meant to say was that she had nervous jitters, was quivering in her boots and felt vulnerable before getting up to speak.

Why do we dread speaking in public?

There is a basic principle that you relax yourself and focus on what you want which will produce stress relief. However, most working moms and busy business people focus on the negative rather than the positive before speaking or any other endeavor. This is one of the reasons why public speaking is one of the most dreaded and nerve-shattering situations you can encounter because of your inability to relax and enjoy stress relief.

Fear

You seem to focus on the fear of how the audience is going to respond or how you are going to sound or screw up, instead of experiencing stress relief.

How do seasoned public speakers deal with the initial” jitters?”

Seasoned public speakers will tell you that stress relief comes as a result of finding a way or ways to breathe and relax. Secondly they will suggest that after you are breathing and relaxed, to focus on what you want and not what you do not want.

You got to breathe!!!

If you are not breathing nothing happens and you freeze up. When you freeze up then it is very difficult to focus.

Now that your breathing

As you learn to breathe, relax and focus on what you want then you will discover how easy and effortless it is to experience stress relief and speak before any audience.

Secondly the ability to relax naturally and experience stress relief without the aid of a strong drink can become second nature, an incredible feeling of freedom and an invaluable tool for working moms and busy business people to add to their stress relief tool box.
