How to stop yourself from having high blood pressure can be examined through the microwave? Coping without your microwave can be fun because it gives you another opportunity to be creative or not.

Let me explain.

We had a microwave for 15 years which worked faithfully. A year ago we bought a NEW microwave and now it is in the repair shop. It is not working… NO power.

Guess what?

It stopped working on the…WEEKEND.

How did we as a family respond to this inconvenience?

My daughter is upset because now she has to wait more than 3 minutes for my grand daughter’s milk to warm. My wife can see many things in the fridge she would like to eat. However she is disturbed because she cannot quickly warm them up.

I am annoyed because the milk for my hot chocolate will take more than 3 minutes to warm up.

How did my granddaughter respond?

My grand daughter wanted to know why she could not press the “quick minute and start” to warm her milk. Although initially we were all frustrated in some way, everyone quickly accepted that the problem will be fixed in 2 business day. When circumstance changes drastically initially we usually get upset. This is a normal response of expressing our feelings.

What can you do to stop from raising your blood pressure when you are upset?

If you are aware of the time in which your problem will be fixed then it is very easy for you to accept an inconvenience for the moment. What that means is that if you screw up with you clients, partners, children, work etc. let them know how soon the problem will be resolved. If you’re true to your word, everybody will love you because they know you can be trusted.

Is screwing up a problem?

Screwing up is not a problem because we all slip up at one time or another. So how do you keep your blood pressure normal and the people around you happy when you screw up? That is a totally different question.

Give them a time by which you’ll fix the problem. Delivering on time shows your commitment and re-establishes your credibility.

So what is the moral of the story?

When you mess up, and you will, establish a time to deliver and deliver on time.
