Stress Relief on Valentines Day is about flowers and chocolates and not about love.

Let me explain

At any age the victory of love consumes much time and energy: causing a natural intoxication and excitement.

So what is love?

Let’s discuss four types of love.

Four types of love

1. Love of God (whoever your God happen to be)

Love of God can cause a natural intoxication and excitement.

2. Love of others.

Loving others although noble can be exhausting if you neglect yourself.

 3. Love of self.

Love of self is very difficult because you have been taught at an early age to love others first.

 4. Love of material things.Love of material things although necessary may force you to get caught in the trap of greed. The more you have the more you want. Hoping that acquiring material assets will provide (so call) happiness and fulfillment. So on what do you focus?

Focus

We will focus on the desire to accumulate material things at any expense.

Material things

Because of the influence of the media and advertising Valentines Day is generally perceived to be about flowers and chocolates.

Sweet smell and  taste

1. What happen when the fresh scent of flowers fade away? Then you return to the daily stressful situations of the “same old same old.”

2. What happens when the sweet taste of chocolates turn sour? Then you’re no longer able to stay focused and return to the “same old same old.”

So what is the moral of the story?

Valentines Day is supposed to be about love. However, the experience of stress relief on Valentines Day seems to be clouded in flowers and chocolates

The celebration of Valentines Day (LOVE) should be a 365 day affair, long after and the fresh scent of flowers and the sweet taste of chocolates have been overcome by daily stressful situations.
