I’m one of the lucky ones who gets to do what I want to do for a living. I work with many entrepreneurs and can say that those that are being authentic – those that create their business and lives with intention and purpose – are the ones that have the greatest success.
I personally used to work in a Corporate job where I didn’t enjoy the work I did, didn’t feel that my contributions were valued and didn’t feel that the work I did was congruent with my own values and goals.
When I look back to my life then and compare it to my life today, I can see the difference that authenticity and living my life with intention has made.
Thanks for the great reminder!
Deborah
Hi Deborah,
You say you are one of the lucky ones but what you neglected to mention is the fact that as an entrepreneur you have a vision. The thing about being authentic is that you have to stand for something.
So for example if you are working with a partner you need to feel aligned with their values.
You have to be accountable. You may not move as fast as others but at the end of the day you feel fulfilled and you are ready to move on the next day with the commitment to touch more people in your life.
Peace,
Cecil.
things are change in day to day life.
but I handle these with comparing all the thing with the past .
nice video to watch.
I watched the video and I really had a great time watching it. I learned the lesson and I will apply it to myself. I am sure this is the answer for my very stressful Mondays.
I personally seek to manage it on a daily basis with tension relaxation routines.
Cecil, you are quite right that we need to be authentic. I quite agree with you. But I think that it is not always a matter of free will – some people are not aware what would they do if they were authentic. I know, because I have passed through that phase! The moment you start thinking about following your heart – you lose your heart!
Knowing your true self is the first step towards being authentic. Some people can do it easily, others cannot. Sometimes it is fear, sometimes it is some other problem. But yes, I think mostly it is fear. However, not knowing your ‘real self’ is a real problem – you have to learn it, you may have to seek somebody’s assistance, or try out various ways on your own.
Hope you agree with me..
Hi Praveen,
I agree with you that following your heart can be very difficult. The challenge is to be able deal with your logical mind. We have been conditioned to allow our mind to dictate 98% of your actions. However, our head and our heart are supposed to work together for maximum results but we have very few models of people who are heart centered without losing their hearts.
As you suggest you can” try” various ways on your own to balance the actions of your head and your heart but I always found it most effective to find a mentor who is living this way and can easily and quickly teach you how to have fun with your head and heart. Peace.
